Aviation Data Systems – Australia (ADS)
is a privately owned Australian company with an eighteen year history in the development
of electronics and software for commercial aviation related applications. The company is
one of a number of technology oriented businesses in La Trobe University's Research and Development Park located in
the Melbourne suburb of Bundoora – about
20 minutes drive east of Melbourne's international airport (MEL).
The company’s technology focus has grown from its initial developments for ACARS
systems, to VDL Mode 2 and GNSS/GBAS technologies.
ADS is strongly oriented towards development of systems and products
which can be adapted and enhanced to meet specific customer requirements.
ADS provides both independent platform and PC based hardware and software
systems that allow developers and users of data link systems to emulate and engage in
datalink operations between a ground station and an aircraft. The primary purpose of many
of ADS's systems is to replace either the aircraft system or the ground
station system in test and development configurations.
The founders, directors and staff at ADS share significant experience in
the aviation industry and have a very strong background in airline data link operations,
avionics engineering and development, systems installations and maintenance, flight
testing and hardware and software development.
Aviation Data Systems has demonstrated its credibility and expertise by
